Sharing a recap of my experience at the Reimagining Health Summit. If you’re reading this and want to learn more about becoming an Integrative Health Practitioner, check it out here and use FITNESSISTA for up to $250 off. It’s by far the best certification I’ve ever done.
Hi friends!
I hope that you’re doing well and enjoying the week so far. We have a short school week with Thanksgiving, so we’re planning some fun things to do this week. The weather has been a dream so I’m going to see if I can convince the crew to head out on a hike.
For today’s post, I wanted to share a recap of my trip to Ft. Lauderdale for the Reimagining Health Summit. It was my second time attending this event – check out last year’s recap here! – and my first time attending as a speaker. I was invited to speak on a panel with three incredible coaches – they’ve all inspired me on my journey as an IHP – and even though I was suuuuper nervous, it went really well.
Some highlights from the trip:
– Ft. Lauderdale! It was my first time in Ft. Lauderdale, which is suprising since it’s a Disney cruise port and we loooove Disney cruises – and I thought it was super cute. It reminded me of Jacksonville, which was one of our favorite beach spots when we lived in Valdosta. I arrived a night early and had time to meet up with a Revenue Rx client for dinner at Pura Vida,
take a Lagree class,
and get a blowout at Dry Bar, which quickly fell out in the humidity, but I tried lol.
– Dinner with IHP friends. We had a delicious dinner at the Lona restaurant at the hotel, and it was so great to chat in person with so many of the friends I see online all the time and on our EquiLife Ambassador board meetings. We had tacos and chatted, and it was the perfect way to kick off the trip.
–The energy.
There’s a special magic about being surrounded with passionate people who have the same mission you have: a desire to help others live their best, happiest, healthiest lives.
– The sessions.
This year’s even was just for IHPs – they alternate years of public events and coach-only events – and there were so many impactful sessions.
Some of my favorites were Dr. Tony’s from Hope 4 Cancer in Mexico,
Dr. Cabral’s keynote,
and Eric Lofholm’s presentation on business building.
– Our panel!!
I was invited to speak on a 6-figure expert health coaching panel with some powerhouse women that I adore: Rebecca, Ellen, and Tricia
When I was invited to speak, I didn’t know if I was going to do it. I struggle with imposter syndrome on a regular basis and public speaking is (was?) my worst nightmare. I’m consistent with content creation and all of the pieces of my online business, but at least once every day, I’m like, “What am I doing? Does anyone care? Do I suck?”
I read a book with strategies on public speaking, and did a lot of meditating, prayer, and visualization. I wanted to do it, but I also didn’t want to pass out on stage.
A few things were in my favor leading up to it:
We were lead backstage by Cassie, who is an absolute angel. Everyone who works at EquiLife is an amazing human, but Cassie is an especially bright, beautiful light. (You can see her in this IG live we did here!) She gave us a much-needed pep talk before we went on stage and reassured us that we had a lot to teach and give to the community.
I took a CBD gummy that was in our swag bag. It was juuuust enough to take the edge off lol.
We prayed together. We held hands and Rebecca gave the most beautiful prayer and after that, I felt like I could do it.
Also, Dr. Cabral is a genuinely nice person and it helped that I’d talked with him in the past. I knew he would ask great questions and that he’s easy to talk to, so that part of the panel removed a lot of the pressure.
-The VIP awards dinner.
Thanks to all of your incredible support, this trip was gifted to me as a 100-day challenge winner. I placed #7 out of over 5,000 IHPs and was also lucky #7 last year 😉 It means the world to me that I’m able to be a small part in your health journey and I’m so thankful to all of you and all of my amazing clients.
It was so much fun to enjoy a lovely meal with other challenge winners, conference speakers, and the EquiLife team.
– The expo!
It’s a little bit on the smaller side, but much higher in quality than some of the conferences I’ve attended. Some of my favorite brands were there, including HigherDOSE and Redmond’s real salt.
One of my favorite goodies in the swag bag: purse-sized bottles of sea salt

On a personal note, the trip was also a big step for me because leading up to it, I hadn’t been alone for more than an hour since February. When we started homeschooling P, a lot of things in our lives changed. I hadn’t been in our house, let alone a hotel room, by myself, since then. It felt like the postpartum days – trying to remember what it was like to be by yourself – and while parts of me COULDN’T WAIT to get away lol, I was sad as soon as it actually happened.
(My room had enough beds and room for the fam! Next year, they’re coming!)
At the same time, I really felt my creative mojo flowing again for the first time in months, and that was very exciting indeed.
All in all, it was an amazing trip and I’m already looking forward to next year’s RHS.
Hope you have a wonderful day, friends, and I’ll see ya soon.
xo
