Today I’m joined by Mika Fox on Yoga | Birth | Babies. A native New Yorker, Mika lives on the Upper West Side with her husband and baby boy, Nogah. She works in account management at a tech company and loves to dance, hike, travel, and practice yoga.
Mika is also a PYC alum, having attended classes from weeks 14–39 of her pregnancy. Her birth story took unexpected twists and turns, but one thing remained constant throughout: her deep trust in her body and her baby.
In this episode you will learn about:
- Mika, and what she did during pregnancy to help her body and mind feel prepared for birth
- The events of her 39 and 40 week check up
- The coping skills she relied on during her birth
- How she came to the decision of working with a doula, and how it played out during her birth
- What she took away from this experience about flexibility, preparation, and trust in the birth process
- One final tip or piece of advice she would like to offer new and expectant parents
